At Sherpany, we are always "hungry" for more knowledge on digital trends and tech innovations. Following our participation at one of the largest tech events in France, Viva Technology, we were more than excited to attend this spring's edition of ICT Spring Europe 2019 Global Tech Conference, during the days of the 21st and 22nd of May, 2019.
Identified as "the place where digital, tech and science converge", the ICT Spring as the event is known by those attending, was held at the European Convention Center in Luxembourg (ECCL), and gathered thought leaders, C-suite elite, startups, and many professionals from a wide range of business fields.
Among participants was our executive meeting expert, Daniel Tin, who joined this "meeting of minds" to find out the latest digital insights from industry leaders. Let's discover why this was an outstanding event, and have him share his experience at the conference with us.
First of all, the ICT Spring conference is considered to be one of the most influential voices in the tech community. More than 100 speakers were invited to engage the audience on essential trends in FinTech Digital, Space, and AI (artificial intelligence). Among them were well-known businessmen such as Luc Julia (Vice President of Innovation & CTO, Samsung Electronics), Benoit Legrand (CEO, ING Ventures & Chief Innovation Officer, ING), Vincent Marchand (Head, Fintech Lab Cash Management, BNP Paribas), Daniele Pagani (Head of Digitalization & IT, ArcelorMittal Flat Europe), politicians like Xavier Bettel (Luxembourg Prime Minister), Pierre Gramegna (Luxembourg Minister of Finance) and large consulting companies representatives, namely Bob Moritz (Global Chairman, PwC), Olivier Lemaire (Partner Luxembourg Assurance Leader, EY), Pascal Denis (Partner & Head of Advisor, KPMG Luxembourg).
Second of all, there are plenty of talks to choose from during the two-day event. Local and international guest speakers share their views and expertise on a multitude of topics from finance, technology, security, AI, and many others. The topics are coupled in several sessions, with their own programme during both days: the FinTech Summit, AI/Digital Summit, Space Forum, IS Day (Information Security), Funds Event, Pitch your Startup. Apart from the main programme, a few side events were scheduled as well: Morpheus Cup and Pitch your Startup, both fostering innovation and entrepreneurship, and Spaceforum, dedicated to space-related industries.
Third of all, the ICT Spring is an exciting place to network with peers and potential business partners. More than 5000 attendees and over 500 companies are present at the venue, in Luxembourg, a city known for its leading excellence in finance, and its initiatives in digital and space. The conference gives investors the possibility to discover the latest innovative European startups in FinTech, Digital, Transportation, and AI. Startups, on the other hand, have the opportunity to win over potential investors by participating at the Pitch Your Startups’ competition in the presence of over 100 investors and interact with local startups-friendly institutions.
"ICT Spring was a great opportunity for us to leverage our network, share our values and showcase state of the art technology for meetings and circular resolution management" explains Daniel Tin, our executive meeting expert
Adding that, from his perspective, "ICT Spring has positioned itself as a real business enabler to help companies enhance their visibility and find new, interesting, business opportunities" and that it was an excellent conference that helped us connect with executives, experts and key players from the digital world in Luxembourg. Thanks to the ICT Spring conference, at Sherpany, we learned from some of the most forward-thinking minds in the tech industry.
